Razorlight have decided on their comeback single - but are facing a race against the clock to finish their second album.
With the band on a deadline to finish their as-yet-untitled second record in the next two weeks, they're working hard to have the album ready for its July release date.
However, one thing that is decided is that single 'In The Morning' will mark their return.
Released on July 3, the song - first since last year's stand alone track 'Somewhere Else' - had its radio debut yesterday (May 3) and was one of the first considered for the new album.
"From the moment it was born I really liked it and it was one of the first contenders for the album," singer Johnny Borrell told NME.COM. "I suppose it's quite apt that it's going to be the first one off the bat."
Written in August 2004, 'In The Morning' first came to attention when Razorlight recorded a special extended version of the song for a Paris fashion show last February, though the band have stripped it back down to "a three-minute stomper" for the single.
Having decided on the single, the focus is now back on the record.
"We're not far from the end of recording now," explained drummer Andy Burrows. "There's a couple of songs where there's some more work to be done on and it's always a worry until you've finished it, but generally it's going brilliantly."
