Introduction
Perry Como has achieved many successes. His own weekly syndicated TV show, hit songs and movie appearances, are just a few of his accomplishments.
The following song was written in 1952 for the TV series called “USA Canteen. ”It has since become recognized as one of America's best inspirational songs. All of us run into at least a couple of major problems as we live out the choice we have made. Frequently there are no simple and logical answers.
There are a few stories that the army can teach you just three things:1.Dig a deep foxhole; 2.Jump into the foxhole whenever you hear a noise; 3.When the noises are very loud, there are no atheists in foxholes.
Humans in difficult situations have a strong tendency to recognize and accept that there must be some immortal higher power in the universe. Despite your best efforts to solve a problem, do you sometimes conclude that in the end the result will be decided by God?
I Believe
Written by Drake, Graham, Shirl and Stillman Sung by Perry Como Orchestra and Chorus Directed by Mitchell Ayres
I believe for every drop of rain that falls,
a flower grows.
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night,
a candle glows.
I believe for everyone who goes astray,
someone will come to show the way.
I believe, I believe.
I believe above the storm the smallest
prayer will still be heard.
I believe that someone in the great somewhere
hears every word.
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry or
touch a leaf or see the sky,
Then I know, why I believe.
I believe above the storm the smallest
prayer will still be heard.
I believe that someone in the great somewhere
hears every word.
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry or
touch a leaf or see the sky,
Then I know why I believe.
