The princess said she was weeping for her golden ball. It had fallen into the well. The frog asked,“What will you give me if I bring it up again?”She said anything he would like. The frog said,“If you love me, and let me be your companion, I will bring your golden ball back again.”

“Oh yes,” said she, “I promise you all you wish, if you bring my ball back again.”But she thought,“What a silly frog! He can only sit in the water and croak.
